Scrappy’s ‘Pawly’ Paw
Scrappy is a Hydrocarbon Detection Dog who works at Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service with his handler Lee and is a lively, boisterous ‘Sprocker’. Scrappy has had a ‘pawly’ poor since Christmas, and although this hasn’t stopped him performing his duties and enjoying himself. Lee has decided that he still isn’t right and so Scrappy has a visit to the vets tomorrow morning where he has an MRI scan booked to see what’s going on.
The vets seem to think it’s a cartilage injury, which is just taking a while to repair itself. However, the MRI will confirm if this is the case or if the joint needs to be ‘flushed’ to remove any loose-floating dead cartilage that may be getting trapped inside the joint, causing him discomfort.
Please will you keep Scrappy in your thoughts tomorrow morning – we will let you know how he gets on!
If you would like to chat with Scrappy yourself he is @ScrappyFireDog on twitter, and he has his own facebook page and YouTube channel.
