An update from Ben
Wagg has a history of providing sponsorship and/or support to worthy causes. It is important to us, as a family owned business, that we give something back to our customers and supporters in some small way. Wagg provide monthly food parcels to a variety of very important pooches, and we love to hear back from the about all the fun they have been having. Ben, who is one of our fire dogs, asked his handler Peter to send us an update and let us know how they have been getting on…
“We are both well thank you and settled into our new role within the service. Ben has become a star within both the county council and fire service with lots of fuss made of him wherever we go! We have been involved in lots of community education events in an effort to reduce arson incidents and spread the general fire safety messages. Ben has also won a county council Outstanding Contribution Award and was also nominated for the Jubilee Award for Outstanding Service in the Public Sector 2013!! So all in all its been busy but very enjoyable first year. I have attached a photo of Ben waiting to get his award – (not the best photo)
Operationally, Ben has been deployed on 18 occasions during the past 12 months and has been proved his value time and time again. Most days we do some form of training just to keep ourselves up to speed and this together with quarterly training days with Clive Gregory ensures that we are both working as a competent team. Yesterday, we attended the Fire Service College to undertake our annual licensing assessment which we passed.”
